A collage is an artistic composition of materials and objects pasted over a surface, often with     unifying lines and color.

Dwyer, Charles

Dwyer is extremely spontaneous in his creations, he lets the artwork tell him where to go rather than tell the art where it should go, so basically nothing is planned. He starts by creating colored abstract backgrounds, than collages images he has cut out from magazines of the 30's and 50's. This is the point where he uses the pastel, letting the figure emerge from the abstracted background as he draws.

Saura, Regina

Regina's style is accentuated with bold color and playful composition. Each monotype is individually embellished with various combinations of collage and pigment through paint or pastel. Often she blends her final varnish finishes contrasting matte, silk and glossy surfaces for a multi-textural quality. If one had to liken her art to any of the masters, one would call her a modern day Miro.
