Always an individualist, Charles Dwyer's approach to drawing is very unique, seeking ways to add dimension to the image. In some cases, Dwyer has stained his paper with tea, giving the appearance of aging, and this is combined with the Moulin Rouge figures connecting his work to the past, evoking the influence of the French artist Toulouse Lautrec and Austrian painter Egon Schiele. |
